But, what exactly is a warm roof, how do we achieve this and why is it important?<br \/>\nA warm roof construction involves a layer of insulation, we use wood fibre. This is fitted above the rafters and below the weatherproof membrane. The way it is constructed creates a breathable roof environment, whereby the moisture can be easily released and which of course prevents damp and decay. Additionally, the \u2018warm\u2019 roof construction allows for heat conservation, and without the use of a ventilation system.<br \/>\nThe immediate benefits of having a warm roof in place are that it is thermally efficient and therefore cost effective; no more huge heating bills! The nature of the warm roof construction also means the roof, and therefore house, will be cooler in Summer; so you can relax in your cool and moisture free home in summer, and warm, cosy home in winter! Sounds good?<br \/>\nAnother considerable benefit of having a warm roof in place is the decreased impact on the environment as a result of using less energy to heat and cool your home. We use natural materials, and so are committed to sustainable building, with the least impact on the environment as possible.<br \/>\nSo if you are thinking of going warm (roof)? Do let us know!
