Internal wall insulation:
“Overall we are very pleased with the work done by Urbane Eco Ltd, the high standard of finish, and the very co-operative spirit of your team, who were a pleasure to have in our home, despite the dust! … We notice the difference to the internal climate already.”

A definite 5-pointer
1 – the room is definitely warmer, as you would hope! We have gone down to one small radiator and it is still warmer that it used to be. The key thing is that the room retains heat far better and warms up quicker.
2 – because the room retains it’s heat we are much more inclined to open the windows and freshen up the place – it seems like the embedded warmth in the walls means that even without heating one, once the windows are shut the room warms up.
3 – the room used to have mould growing on a few walls where there is little air circulation. This is no longer the case. There was also mould under the plasterboard that was taken down. The absence of this has got to mean better air quality.
4 – we love the lime plaster finish, the smooth texture and natural colour, and haven’t felt the need to paint it.
5 – overall it really makes the room feel much cosier and a lovely place to spend time in
Pleasing results
We have been very pleased with the results. The loft is much warmer and the temperature tends to be more even than before: even with the radiators turned off, they never feel freezing cold in the winter.
In the two rooms below, the effect has been very noticeable. The lounge is now warm and we do not need the gas fire as supplementary heating as we did before and the humidity has dropped. It now is a pleasant room to be in. The room above, even in the winter in the late afternoon before the heating comes back on, feels OK to sit and work on the computer – it is only when the temperature outside is zero or below that it begins to feel chilly!
We have been sufficiently impressed that we hope to discuss with you whether it is worth doing the dining room, which although faces south is now the coldest room in the house!
We have not detected any condensation problems which was apparent before eg mould on the walls in corners.
