Why use lime plaster?

Lime plaster is breathable as it is vapour permeable, meaning it allows moisture to pass through it. We use lime plaster in conjunction with breathable wood fibre insulation materials. Using lime plaster reduces the risk of moisture becoming trapped and damaging the fabric of the building.

Lime plaster will give you a more comfortable home environment, especially when used together with wood fibre, as it absorbs and then releases moistures, meaning that humidity in your home will be kept at a healthy level.

Lime plaster is an eco-friendly material, as it uses less energy in its manufacture than other plasters.

An added bonus with lime plaster is that it gives such a nice finish, many of our customers don’t bother painting over it – so you could save yourself having to re-decorate! If you do wish to paint over the lime plaster, you must use a breathable paint – check out Nutshell, based in Devon.
